How you get paid on Learn Now
Every lesson is paid before you teach it and released to your bank after it happens. The timeline for one lesson, what you keep, and what happens when a lesson moves.

Chasing payment is the part of tutoring nobody enjoys. On Learn Now there is nothing to invoice: the family pays before each lesson, and the money comes to you after it.

One lesson, start to finish
- Paid before it happens. The family pays the trial when they accept your quote. After that, each lesson is billed 24 hours before it starts, or paid from the family's Learn Now Credits.
- Held while you teach. The payment is held by our payment provider, Stripe, until the lesson has happened.
- You mark it completed. The family then has 48 hours to raise anything. If they confirm the lesson sooner, it is released sooner.
- Released to you. It goes to your bank automatically through your Stripe payout. Money released to you is never clawed back.
Set up your payout account on your Finance page before your first lesson, so nothing waits.
What you keep
- The trial with a new family is our placement fee. If the family does not continue, half of it comes back to you.
- Every lesson after that: your rate less the platform fee, 5% as a Standard Tutor. On a S$70 lesson, S$66.50 reaches you.
- A family you already know (a sibling, a second subject, or a family you bring in yourself) has no trial. Lesson 1 runs as normal and you receive 75% of it; the platform fee applies from lesson 2.
- Short notice: if you switch it on, families can book a lesson inside 24 hours at your rate plus a 10% surcharge, which is yours in full.
Nothing else is deducted: Stripe's cost of paying you is inside the platform fee. Every charge is on What you keep.
When a lesson moves
- The family, more than 48 hours ahead: the lesson moves to a new time rather than being refunded.
- The family, inside 48 hours: you are asked. If you decline, the lesson stands.
- You: if you have to cancel, you offer three other times and the family chooses one.
- Ending: either side can end classes at any time. Lessons not yet taught go back to the family as credits.
For your records
Your Finance page shows every lesson, release and payout. At the end of the year there is a statement of what Learn Now collected and paid you, by month, ready for filing.
