No. Browsing, posting a request and receiving quotes are all free. You only ever pay for lessons — and your first order is always a single paid trial lesson, never a package.

You pay for the trial when you accept a quote. After that, lessons are paid one at a time — by PayNow, card, or from your Learn Now Credits — and each payment is held in safekeeping and released to your tutor only after the lesson happens and its 48-hour window passes. Nothing renews on its own and there is no monthly bill. If you prefer not to think about it, top up credits and switch on automatic payment for the class: each lesson is then paid from your balance 3 days ahead. Credits can also pay up to four weeks of lessons in one go.

If the trial lesson tells you no — you pay for that one lesson and nothing more, with no cancellation charge. Match with another tutor whenever you’re ready; matching never costs anything.

If a new class misses its minimum by the deadline, it doesn’t start and every family is refunded in full — payment processing included — to their Learn Now Credits, automatically.

Tutor profiles show what tutors themselves provide — we encourage transcripts and certificates. Tutors can also apply for the ✓ Verified badge, where our team reviews their qualification documents. Your real protection is built into how Learn Now works: every engagement starts with a single paid trial lesson, money is released to a tutor only after each lesson happens, and reviews come only from families who have paid for a lesson with that tutor. Listing order is never sold, and no tutor can pay to appear first.

It appears only when you pay by card, WeChat Pay or Alipay. Those payments carry Learn Now’s payment fee of 3% of the amount, shown as its own line before you pay, so the tutor’s rate stays the price you see. Paying by PayNow carries no such line. The payment fee is a transaction cost, so it is not refunded when a lesson is refunded, except when a group class does not start or its tutor cancels it. What comes back, to your Learn Now Credits, is the lesson fee and, on a short-notice booking, the surcharge. On a credits top-up the fee is charged once, on the top-up, and not again on the lessons the balance pays for. Tutors pay nothing on top either: the cost of paying them is inside the platform fee.

Yes. PayNow carries no payment fee, so the price you see is the price you pay. Card, WeChat Pay and Alipay add 3% of the amount, shown before you pay: on a S$100 lesson, nothing by PayNow and S$3 by card. A Learn Now Credits top-up is charged the same way as the method you top up with: nothing by PayNow, 3% by card. Credits do not make paying cheaper. What they do is let you pay a lesson with one press, or switch on automatic payment for a class so each lesson is paid three days ahead, with no checkout to remember.

No. Every payment runs through our payment provider, and that is deliberate rather than a limitation. It is what lets us hold your money in safekeeping until the lesson has actually happened, refund it automatically when the rules say so, and show you a record of every cent. A direct transfer into our own bank account would have none of those protections, for you or for your tutor.

Credits are a prepaid balance that pays for lessons at their normal price, one credit for each S$1. They never expire, we never reduce the value of credits you hold, and we hold at most 5,000 bought credits for any one family. Payment processing is charged once on the top-up, at the rate of the method you choose, and not again on the lessons the balance pays for. You can pay any lesson from credits, or up to four weeks of lessons at once. You can also switch on automatic payment for a class: each lesson is then paid from your balance three days before it happens. It is off unless you switch it on. Every refund comes back as credits, whatever you paid with. We pay money back only when you close your account: the whole remaining balance, one credit to S$1, by PayNow or bank transfer in the month after you ask — less any amount still in dispute with a tutor, which we send separately once that is decided, and less any charge our payment provider makes to return it. Closing takes a few minutes from the Account page and we do not ask why.

Every refund is made in Learn Now Credits, whatever you paid with — a cancelled lesson, an issue decided in your favour, a trial that did not happen, a short-notice booking the tutor could not take, or a group class that did not start. The credits appear on your statement at once and pay for your next lesson. Money is paid back when you close your account: the whole balance, one credit to S$1, by PayNow or bank transfer. What is refunded is the lesson fee (and any short-notice surcharge); the payment-processing line is a transaction cost and is not refunded, except when a group class does not start or its tutor cancels it.

Yes. Choose "For myself" when you sign up, or "Myself" when you post a request. Everything works as it does for families: you compare quotes, pay for one trial lesson, and the money is held until each lesson has happened. You need to be 18 or over to hold an account; a younger student can ask a parent to post for them.

No. One account books for you and your children. When you post a request, choose "Myself" or the child it is for. Your classes, payments and messages stay in one place, and tutors see who each class is for.

Yes, with the same login. From the account menu, add a learning account, then switch between teaching and learning in one click. Your earnings and your own lessons are kept separate.

Each lesson’s fee releases after you mark it completed and the 48-hour window passes, then goes to your bank automatically. Money released to you is never clawed back.
