Teach on your own terms. Get paid on time, every time.

Starting with a trial. Every new student starts with one trial lesson, so you and the family can see whether you are a good fit before anything regular is agreed. It lasts at least 1.5 hours and is paid at your quoted rate. Afterwards the family chooses one tutor, or none, by day 23 of their request; nothing renews on its own. If they choose you, the trial fee is our placement fee, your rate applies from lesson 2, and the two of you set each lesson’s length, from 30 minutes to 3 hours in half-hours. If they choose someone else, or nobody, you are paid half the trial fee once it settles.

A family you already know. A sibling, a second subject, or a family you bring in yourself pays no trial: lesson 1 runs as normal, Learn Now keeps a quarter as the onboarding fee, and the platform fee applies from lesson 2 as usual.

Several tutors at once. A family may trial more than one tutor for the same request. When they choose one, the others are paid half their trial fee. You are not told whether you are the only one being trialled. If a family who did not choose you comes back to you later, half of that first lesson together is the platform’s placement fee and the rest is yours.

Short notice. If you switch it on, families can book a lesson inside 24 hours at your listed rate plus a 10% surcharge that is yours in full. They pay first; you have two hours to accept or decline.

Cancellations. A family cancelling with more than 48 hours’ notice moves the lesson rather than getting a refund; inside 48 hours you are asked, and if you decline the lesson stands. Emergencies with a document are moved, not refunded. If you cancel, you offer three alternative times. The full rules are in the Refund Policy.
